This Privacy Policy describes how the Al-Quran app (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our application. By using the app, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
The app is an offline-first Quran reader. Most features work without an account and without sending any data to a server.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Google Account Information — If you choose to sign in with Google, we collect your name, email address, and profile photo from your Google account. Sign-in is entirely optional; the app is fully functional without an account.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Reading Progress — Your last-read surah and verse is saved locally on your device. If you are signed in, it is synced to our server to allow continuity across devices.
- Bookmarks — Ayahs you bookmark are saved locally and synced to our server when you are signed in.
- Device Token (FCM) — If you are signed in, your device’s Firebase Cloud Messaging token is sent to our server solely to deliver push notifications.
2.3 Information Collected by Third Parties
- Google AdMob — If ads are enabled (i.e., you have not purchased the ad-free version), Google AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve personalized or non-personalized advertisements. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Google Sign-In — Authentication is handled entirely by Google. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging — Push notifications are delivered via Firebase. See Firebase Privacy & Security.
3. How We Use Your Information

4. Data Storage and Security
- Your data is stored on secure servers. Only you can access your own reading progress and bookmarks.
- Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device using Android’s encrypted DataStore.
- We retain your data for as long as your account is active.
- You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at any time.
5. Advertising
The free version of the app displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. These ads may use cookies and device identifiers to show relevant advertisements based on your interests.
Users who purchase the Remove Ads in-app product will not see any advertisements. This purchase is a one-time payment and is processed securely through Google Play Billing.
6. Children’s Privacy
This app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. The app contains Islamic educational content suitable for all ages. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
7. Your Rights
You may at any time:
- Use the app without signing in — no personal data is collected or sent to our servers.
- Sign out to stop syncing your data to our server.
- Contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through an in-app notification or by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
